Roadmap to far off lands...

San Pedro River, Unannounced
by Jeff Gibbs

Asleep or waiting daydreamed
the hard body of a doe back curved
spine of amber
her shoulders her out stretched legs
a sensual swell of earth color
of dry sand and sun scorched leaves crushed into dust

Someone exhale awe
breathe a river
race through the branches and tremble them
tremble the leaves there above her
make them moan green
make her moan
the sky shakes the sky trembles in all its sapphire

Moisture a passing phantom of a river
slinks hot and invisible
stroke of liquified sun
insatiable against me against yours drinking
under sunlight under sacred white
over mustard weeds and stone space

She rises and runs
